Criteria
- As a community foundation described in the Articles of Incorporation, and as a geographic field of interest fund with the Toledo Community Foundation, the WCCF may consider requests from organizations designated as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue. This means that an organization must have applied to the IRS for tax-exempt status and received a letter from the IRS granting them taxexempt status.
- A number assigned by the IRS for bank accounts does not necessarily mean an organization has tax-exempt status under 501(c)(3).
- Governmental units, such as a county, city, township or school boards also qualify for grant consideration. A written statement from a local or state auditor verifying applicant is a government entity is required for grant consideration.
