The purpose of the grant is to provide funding to local businesses looking to add or integrate new technologies that facilitate job creation and retention, market expansion, and/or enhance profitability. Grant decisions will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, industry sector, company ownership, jobs created and/or retained, and fixed-asset investment. Support is intended for small-to-medium sized companies with eligible projects.
Funding for the Washington County Innovation Grant is made possible through a partnership with the Marietta-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City of Marietta.
Funding Information
The 2023 Funding Cycle allows for two (2) grants of up to $5,000.00. Grants require a 1:1 match.
Projects
Growth and expansion projects that include fixed asset investment with a job creation and/or retention commitment. Eligible costs include:
- Machinery and Equipment – Including the purchase of new machinery, relocation costs of machinery and equipment related to the project, including freight shipping, furniture and fixtures, tooling, etc.
- Technological Improvements – Including the purchase of hardware, industry-specific software, instruments, and controls.
- Broadband Infrastructure: Including costs associated with adopting technology for increased automation, Industry 4.0 initiatives, and the Internet of Things.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants must have a business in Washington County that operates in one of the following sectors: Advanced Manufacturing, Energy & Chemicals, Food & Agribusiness, Healthcare, Logistics & Distribution, or Technology.
- Eligible applicants must have less than one hundred (100) employees.
- Eligible applicants must have at least one (1) year of operating history with revenues of at least $100,000. Applicants must demonstrate a need for support to move the project forward.
