UGAMS is a program of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement and is funded, in part, by the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD). The scope and goals of these efforts include: assisting business districts with the retention, expansion and attraction of neighborhood-serving small businesses, and unifying and strengthening the commercial corridor of Georgia Avenue NW.

- Businesses located on Georgia Ave NW between Missouri and Eastern Avenue with brick-and-mortar locations, except for nonprofit organizations without a retail location, franchises, and churches, are eligible for this grant.
- Businesses one or two blocks off of Georgia Avenue at major intersections are also likely eligible, and can contact us to confirm eligibility.
- Businesses looking for a brick-and-mortar location — either brand new or relocation — to this part of Georgia Ave NW are also eligible on a case-by-case basis.
- Businesses that received funds from UGAMS at any time during previous year are not eligible.
