The Penny Foundation is a Birmingham, Alabama-based community chest working to eliminate economic inequality in the Black community. The Penny Foundation connects people, organizations and resources in the areas of family, economics and community development through the lens of technology and innovation.
The third grant cycle is made possible through the Penny Foundation’s recent partnership with the Birmingham Business Resource Center, Foundation Capital, Building Alabama Reinvestment, as well as the AG Gaston Business Institute and AG Gaston Conference.

Grants are to be used for business needs and operations. Rewards will be dispensed as follows:

- (3) $2,500 Grants
- (6) $1,000 Grants
- (7) $500 Grants
Eligibility Criteria
Businesses will be awarded in three categories, which include businesses in the concept stage, businesses established for one to five years, and businesses established for more than five years.
