The City of Killeen is making assistance available to Killeen small businesses who experienced financial hardships because of the coronavirus and are in need of assistance to stabilize and minimize additional adverse economic impacts.
Funding Information
Small businesses located in Killeen can request up to $10,000 to mitigate financial hardships occurring because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for grant funding under this program, the business must:
- Be in operation prior to March 2020 and remain in operation
- Operate in a retail store front location (non-home-based business) in the corporate city limits of Killeen, Texas
- Have 50 or fewer employees
- Not be limited to patrons to over the age of 18
- Have experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19 equal to or greater than the amount of assistance being requested
- Not have received prior relief funding to cover the loss of income for the same period of time that the requested assistance is being considered.
- Not be owned by a City of Killeen employee, Council Member, or related to any Killeen official within the first degree of consanguinity (father, mother, son, daughter) or affinity (spouse, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law)
Ineligibility
Non-profits, publicly traded companies, and franchises are not eligible for business assistance. Non-profits may be eligible for other City of Killeen American Rescue Plan Act funds to be announced at a later date.
