As part of its support for teaching artists, the Bartol Foundation makes Teaching Artist Micro-Grant awards of $500 to help teaching artists complete community-based arts education projects that are underway and/or to support their own professional development during the Coronavirus pandemic and uprisings against systemic racism.
Donor Name: Stockton Rush Bartol Foundation
State: Pennsylvania
City: Philadelphia
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 01/30/2022
Size of the Grant: $500
Details:
In the midst of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation understands that some teaching artists are engaged in projects that engages their community, either virtually or in-person. Teaching artists may also require support as they pivot to present community programs virtually, with expenses that may include, for example, technical equipment or broadband access. Other teaching artists may use this time to strengthen their teaching artist practice, for example, by designing curriculum or building out their web presence.
If you are working with community members, your project has to engage community members (of any age) as active, creative, artmaking participants (in any discipline), not just as an audience.
The project, either in the community or for a teaching artists’ own teaching practice, must be urgent and timely. Funds must be expended within three months of the grant award.
