The Silicon Valley Community Foundation is pleased to announce its Faith Community Action Grants to address disparities and to build a strong and engaged community.
Donor Name: Silicon Valley Community Foundation
State: California
County: San Mateo County (CA) and Santa Clara County (CA)
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline: 07/14/2023
Size of the Grant: $10,000
Details:
Thriving communities of faith foster deep relationships, a sense of community and support for those that face harsh circumstances. Many also support civic engagement focused on social and racial justice.
In a region where many have suffered the impact of systemic racial injustices, the faith community can provide a moral frame for seeking solutions to important issues confronting in their region.
Through this grant program, SVCF will support faith-based leaders and organizations working to strengthen interfaith and race relations, invest in leadership within the community, increase community participation in civic life, and provide services to local communities of color and those of undocumented status.
Priority Areas
Priority will be given to organizations led by and allied with people of color and undocumented residents, and those with annual budgets under $1 million. Organizations can apply for general operating support or program support grants. Grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that demonstrate all of the following:
- Prioritize secular engagement of communities of color and undocumented residents
- Commit to partnerships with others and make use of relational organizing strategies, while centering trusted community messengers in their work
- Address emerging community needs with projects designed with community residents working for social and racial justice
- Include policy advocacy, holding elected officials accountable, voter engagement and other tactics that are central to power-building.
