This arts focused grant opportunity brings together a collection of funds intended only to support arts & cultural organizations within our five and one half county region. Arts & Cultural programs reflect the “soul” of the community and its surroundings working to cultivate a cultural identity by setting the community apart and attracting people to its uniqueness. Arts and cultural offerings help express a community’s values and creates an elevated sense of awareness for community members and visitors. When arts and culture interweave in the fabric of a community, it helps cities attract tourists, diverse talent, brings about innovation and grows the economy.
Arts & Cultural programs enhance our community in the following ways:
- Promote Interaction in Public Space
- Increase Civic Participation Through Celebrations
- Engage Youth in the Community
- Promote the Power and Preservation of Place
- Broaden Participation in the Civic Agenda
Funding Priorities
Applications will be accepted from any nonprofit organization in the Capital Region conducting a program designed to integrate cultural appreciation in the everyday lives of underserved audience. Priority will be given to programs that increase arts engagement and access among diverse audiences, underserved and/or economically disadvantaged communities. Arts for All is most interested in proposals that will increase access to the arts in the Capital Region through:
- Free public performances for families
- Ticket subsidy programs that fill houses
- Innovative programs that engage and build young audiences
- Educational outreach programs
Funding Information
The maximum grant award is $5,000. Grant awards typically range from $750-$3,000. Grants are awarded for one year. This grant opportunity will not fund 100% of any project.
Grant Period
Proposed projects may take place at any time during the grant year beginning September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
- This opportunity is available to nonprofit organizations serving the counties of Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, and the Dillsburg Area of Northern York County and/or nonprofit organizations who are located within 20 miles of center city Harrisburg.
- Applicants must either be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a nonprofit organization as recognized by the IRS as such, or have a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization act as a fiscal sponsor for the proposed project.
What they Do Not Fund
This grant opportunity does not fund:
- Advertising
- Capital campaigns
- Direct lobbying to influence legislation or funding appropriations
- Individuals
- National and statewide umbrella organizations that cannot demonstrate a local presence
- New staff positions without a substantial plan for sustainability
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Retroactive projects
