Through the partnership, The LEE Initiative has been able to provide over 2 million dollars in grants to black owned businesses. These grants are available to both existing and startup businesses. The collective intent is to ensure financial support and other resources to sustain long-term business health and success. Because this is about more than saving restaurants; it’s about preserving Black culinary culture today and into the future.
Funding Information
Grantees can receive from $15,000.00 up to $25,000.00.
Eligibility Criteria
Only US applicants are eligible.
Who does Qualify
- Service based
- Food service component
- Prepared and consumed on-site
- Preferencing: bakeries, restaurants, cafes
- Brick and Mortars
- Pop-ups and farmer’s market businesses with established business licenses and histories
- Food Trucks
- Catering businesses
- Must be minimum 50% Black-owned
Ineligibility
- Packaged food product lines
- Alcohol and spirits companies
- Grocery or food markets although it will make an exception for markets that have delis, cafes and restaurants in them
