The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven is once again teaming up with the Arts Council of Greater New Haven for this project-based grant opportunity. The goal is to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic with cultural experiences that center on racial justice, collective healing, and youth development. A Community Advisory Team is supporting every step of this process, including the grantmaking decisions.
Funding Information
Grants will range from $5,000 to $20,000 per year for up to two years to provide a deep, lasting impact in the community.
Project Examples
- Conversations about race, racism, and systemic barriers to opportunity
- Events that center + celebrate Black, Brown, and Indigenous (BIPOC) culture + history
- Collaborations that bring disparate groups together through creativity
- Initiatives that fight isolation through community building
- Create opportunities for collective mourning, comfort, and healing
- Supplement or complement the public-school curriculum + engage youth
Eligibility Criteria
- Live, work or serve people within The Community Foundation’s twenty-town region.
- Independent artists or nonprofit organizations with a history of arts programming
- You must provide services within our 20 town areas: Ansonia, Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, Derby, East Haven, North Branford, North Haven, West Haven, Oxford, New Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Milford, Seymour, Shelton, Wallingford, Orange, Woodbridge.
