This new system provides an opportunity for grant seekers to have access to a diversified pool of funds and have flexibility to determine their needs for funding in a comprehensive manner. Nonprofits conducting work in their regional footprint, will be able to determine their eligibility and apply for grants from their Community Impact Grants, the Fund for Women and Girls, NextGen Fund Giving Circle, Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Community Development Fund, and the COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Fund.
Funding Information
- Community Impact Grants (CIG): Approximately $1MM will be available to award Community Impact Grants in 2022.
- Fund for Women and Girls (FWG): FWG awards one-year grants at a maximum of $25,000 each.
- NextGen Fund Giving Circle (“NextGen Fund”)
- Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce Community Development Fund (“Chamber’s Fund”): Grants up to $30,000 may be awarded.
- COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund (“COVID Fund”)
Geographic Focus
- Is the nonprofit located in the Foundation’s geographic footprint? Is a significant part of the nonprofit’s services devoted to residents living in the Greater Mercer County Area?
- Greater Mercer County Area is defined as including:
- All of Mercer County,
- Southern Middlesex County, including Monroe, Plainsboro, and Cranbury,
- Southern Somerset County, including Montgomery, Rocky Hill, and adjacent sections of Franklin Township,
- Southern Hunterdon County, including Lambertville, West Amwell Township, and the adjacent parts of East Amwell Township,
- Northern Burlington County, including Bordentown and Bordentown Township, and,
- Eastern Bucks County, Pennsylvania, including New Hope, Morrisville, Washington Crossing and Yardley.
Eligible Questions
- Does the nonprofit have tax-exempt status under the IRS Section 501(c)(3)? If not, does your organization have a fiscal sponsor with a tax-exempt status? The fiscal sponsor must be a locally based nonprofit within the Community Foundation’s geographic footprint.
- Is the nonprofit registered with the State of New Jersey or Pennsylvania as a charity? For organizations exempt from the provisions of the New Jersey Charitable Registration and Investigation Act or the Pennsylvania Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act, is the organization a religious organization or a school district that files its curricula with the Department of Education?
