Are you a nonprofit organization or school that is interested in applying? Get your youth involved in developing a project! How do they want to make their mark on the world?
Points of Light and KPMG believe that young people are a force for change. From climate change to racial and social justice and from animal welfare to food insecurity, young people are at the center of tackling the world’s most complex issues.
Aligned with Points of Light’s Civic Circle and understanding that doing good comes in many forms, the Year of Civic Learning Youth Grants welcome projects that take broad and creative approaches to tackling today’s most pressing issues through civic engagement and volunteering.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants:
- While they encourage projects to be led by youth, due to legal requirements, grant applications must be submitted by an individual 18 years of age or older such as a parent, representative from a nonprofit organization or school, or other supporter.
- Must be affiliated with a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or tax-exempt (public or private) school in the United States. Grants will be issued directly to the nonprofit organization or school. Limit of one grant per nonprofit organization or school.
- Project Must:
- Engage youth in volunteering or civic engagement. Preference will be given to youth- led and youth-designed projects.
- Take place between June 1 and August 31, 2022.
- Benefit a community, school, or local organization including, but not limited to, activities that impact a social issue, building or strengthening local civic engagement initiatives, hosting a volunteer project (virtual or in-person) and more.
- Be informed by listening and learning from the community so that the proposed action being taken is meaningful and beneficial to those who will enjoy its outcomes. For example, if you’re planning to support a community garden, what’s planted in the garden should be informed by those who will use the garden.
