The PepsiCo Foundation is offering Impacto in collaboration with nonprofit partners, including Accion Opportunity Fund in Los Angeles, Allies for Community Business in Chicago, Prospera in Miami, and LiftFund in San Antonio.
Impacto was designed to empower Hispanic food entrepreneurs to overcome systemic disparities and grow their enterprises. In 2023, Impacto will provide 100 Hispanic entrepreneurs with a full suite of free program offerings, including:
- one-on-one and group coaching
- virtual and in-person events
- trusted digital business resources
- a $10,000 small business grant
The support will help Hispanic entrepreneurs overcome systemic economic disparities and grow their enterprises. The program is focused on cities where small business owners were hit particularly hard by the pandemic. In 2023, Impacto will provide 100 Hispanic entrepreneurs with a full suite of program offerings: one-on-one and group coaching, virtual and in-person events, and a $10,000 small business grant.
Geographic Areas
Impacto uses the United States Census Bureau’s Metropolitan Divisions to define the geographic areas of each market. These boundaries include specific counties that incorporate and surround each major city:
- Albuquerque – Bernalillo, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Torrance, and Valencia counties
- Chicago – Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties
- Dallas – Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise counties
- El Paso – El Paso, and Hudspeth counties
- Houston – Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller counties
- Las Vegas – Clark, and Nye counties
- Los Angeles – Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties
- Miami – Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties
- New York City – Bergen, NJ; Bronx, NY; Hudson, NJ; Kings, NY; New York, NY; Passaic, NJ; Putnam, NY; Queens, NY; Richmond, NY; Rockland, NY; and Westchester, NY counties
- San Antonio – Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina, and Wilson counties
Eligibility criteria
Any business owner who meets the following criteria is eligible to apply for Impacto:
- Must self-identify as Hispanic
- Must own at least 50% of a local business whose primary purpose is to serve food: restaurants, caterers, cafés, food trucks, bodegas, and carnicerias
- Must currently operate a business location in one of the Impacto markets: Albuquerque, Chicago, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, or San Antonio
- Must have a business bank account
- Business must have been operational for at least two years (since June 1, 2021)
- Business must have 2022 annual revenue less than $1,000,000
