The American Rescue Plan (ARP) was enacted on March 11, 2021. This historic legislation represents a significant
commitment to the arts and a recognition of the value of the arts and culture sector to the nation’s economy and recovery. In order to respond to the great need of artists in the wake of COVID-19, the Nevada Arts Council will award ARP funds to individual artists throughout Nevada to support the production and presentation of artistic projects across all disciplines and help artists rebuild after the impacts of COVID-19.
Funding Information
- Grant Amount: $1,000 artist fee/stipend (no match required)
- ARP grant funds must be used solely as an artist fee/stipend for the grantee to carry out the specific project/activity.
- Each grantee will receive $1,000 towards their project paid through an initial $500 artist fee/stipend, then a second $500 artist fee/stipend upon satisfactory proof of project
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal permanent resident status.
- Must be a current Nevada resident and have been in residence for at least one year prior to the date of the grant application.
- Must not be enrolled as a degree-seeking student.
- Artists working in collaborations must file a single application with one individual named as the primary applicant.
- Must be a practicing, professional artist with a sustained commitment to their art form:
- The term “artist” applies broadly across disciplines, including performing, visual, literary, media, and multi-disciplinary artists who devote a significant portion of their time to the creation of artwork.
- The professional artist is likely paid for performances, sells their artwork, or shares their body of work with the public on a regular basis.
