The Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees decided to focus grantmaking on the top two issues actually experienced by Isabella County residents surveyed during the Needs Assessment process in 2018. Though all program types are encouraged, the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees is most interested in ideas that address one of the greatest concerns expressed in Isabella County’s most recent Community Needs Assessment:
- Lack of jobs that pay enough to live on; and
- Crime, violence, or bullying.
What is MPACF most Interested in Supporting?
- The start-up of programs that solve critical local problems or address critical local needs.
- Important projects or programs not adequately being served by existing community resources.
- Projects which provide leverage for generating other funds and community resources.
- Projects which facilitate cooperation and collaboration between organizations.
- Projects not requiring continuous funding from MPACF.
- Capital improvements.
Funding Information
Mini‐grant applications may be submitted for sums of $300 or less.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organization must serve Isabella County.
- Organization must be a nonprofit as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code, a school, or unit of government. Must be in good standing with the IRS at the time of application.
- Requests cannot be used for the use of a political campaign, or to support attempts to influence legislature of any governmental body other than through making available the results of nonpartisan analysis, study, and research.
- Requests for support of projects presented by religious organizations will be considered if a general need is being met and the project does not promote the teachings of a particular church or denomination.
- MPACF does not provide grants to individuals, except in the form of scholarships.
