The award will also include resources from one of the following organizations: Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, Black Professional Network, South-Dade Connections and T.E.C LLC.

Grantees can receive in the amount of $2,500.
The grant can be used for the following: inventory/supplies/other than food item, business equipment, marketing/advertisting, business expansion and technology (computer, software, copier, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
A business must be operating for at least six months and no more than two years.
Evaluation Criteria
- Applications will be evaluated by an Evaluation/Selection Committee which will evaluate and rank proposals on criteria listed below. The Evaluation/Selection Committee is comprised of members of the professional business, academic and government communities. The criteria are itemized with their respective weights for a maximum total of one hundred and fifty (150) points per Evaluation/Selection Committee member.
- The Evaluation/Selection Committee will rate and rank the applications by highest point. MDEAT will select a maximum of 20 applicants throughout Miami-Dade County. MDEAT has allocated $50,000.00 to this grant process to be awarded to qualified small black businesses operating in Miami-Dade County. In the event there are not 20 recipients of the grant funds, the difference will be reallocated to the pool and distributed evenly to the actual number of recipients.
