The purpose of the Shrewsbury COVID-19 Business and Nonprofit Recovery Assistance Program is to provide immediate relief to Shrewsbury businesses and nonprofits that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Town of Shrewsbury has received funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), $50,000 of which has been made available for this program by the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen. The Town of Shrewsbury, facilitated through the Planning and Economic Development Department is committed to helping local businesses and nonprofits recover from the unique economic challenges that were created by COVID-19.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount of grant funding that a business can receive is $2,500.
Eligibility Criteria
Any for-profit business or non-profit in Shrewsbury seeking grant assistance through the Shrewsbury Small Business Grant Assistance Program must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Have 25 full time employees (part-time staff equates to ½ FTE) or less on payroll.
- Began operating in Shrewsbury no later than June 10, 2020.
- Be in good standing with the town of Shrewsbury and the state of Massachusetts (ie. No current record of tax delinquency).
- Enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Town of Shrewsbury to receive grant funds, if awarded.
