Exhibition will be held for the winner and finalists at the F. Scott Literary Festival to be held at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville (UUCR) Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Themes
The poster should reflect one of our themes based on:
- Fitzgerald’s life or works (possibly the family association with Rockville)
- The 2023 Honoree Jonathan Franzen
- Jonathan Franzen writings and images
- This year’s festival theme “”Mental Illness in Fiction”
- Some meaningful combination of 2 or more of the above.
Benefits
Honorarium/Award: $1000 will be awarded to the winner. 2nd and 3rd place will awarded $100 each. The three finalists will be displayed at the event. Each winner will receive a FREE ticket to the festival. (We encourage the artist to be there to respond to attendees comments and questions.)
Eligibility
- Artists resident in Montgomery County, MD.
- Submissions must be limited in size to 18″” x 24″” max. and 11″” x 17″” minimum. 2D framed and ready for exhibition.
- Submission should include: artists name, title, size, material, bio, artist statement about the artwork and its connection to the themes, website, email, phone number and full address.
The First Place winner’s original artwork will belong to the FSF Literary Conference, Inc. The Festival will have use of the image for reproduction in social media, hard copy material and our website. The artist will maintain rights to reproduce the work. Submissions must be delivered on or before Friday, June 24, 2023 (location TBD in Rockville.) No return postage/shipping available. Judging will take place on Saturday, June 25. Work not selected must be picked up after the judging by June 27th.
