- Project: to move forward a new project or creative endeavor that contributes to career advancement or artistic development
- Process: to engage in administrative or artistic learning, skill-building, or professional development that contributes to improved business or artistic practice
- Progression: to bolster artistic business capacity through equipment or supply purchasing, staffing, or other operating expenses
Applications for Project, Process, or Progression funding can be of any or multiple arts disciplines including, but not limited to: visual arts, film/video, photography, music composition, music performance, dance, dance choreography, playwriting, theatre performance, theatre direction, poetry, folk arts, craft, design, published works, etc.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant for a single proposal is $2,000.
- The grant cycle is between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Artist Grant is open to all artists, both emerging and established, working across all artistic mediums and disciplines.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Artists may work with other artists on their project, but one artist must be the lead applicant (e.g. one poet submits a Project proposal that involves their poetry group, one musician submits a Process proposal that involves their band)
- An artist collaborating on a project who is not the lead applicant can submit a separate application for a separate Project, Process, or Progression proposal.
- Applicants must be headquartered in and/or physically reside within Lane County and must be a resident of Lane County for at least one year immediately prior to the application deadline.
- Applicants must demonstrate how the Eugene community is a key beneficiary for the proposed and/or future presentation, production, professional development, or community engagement of their artistic practice.
- All activities proposed for funding in any Project, Process, or Progression proposal must take place between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.
- Applicants that are submitting an application for a Public Art project, please review the Public Art Guidelines for additional eligibility requirements, which can be found on Lane Arts Council’s website. Public art proposals are defined as any visual art intended for public space. Public space includes both public and private property where there is free and open access for viewers.
- Applicants may submit as many as two proposals. To do so, two complete and separate proposals are required.
