The highest priority for the dollars available to be granted each year shall be given to arts organizations which have received financial support from the donor during her lifetime. These organizations are identified below. Other arts organizations and art projects will also be considered for funding at a second level of priority.
The objective of the Lakeview Arts Fund is to provide funding to arts organizations for either operating support or project support within the stated geographical areas. Other organizations undertaking art projects will also be eligible for operating or project support. Arts organizations and art projects may include, but are not limited to, music; opera; the visual arts, both two and three dimensional; dance, storytelling and performance art; traditional and folk art; literature; plays; and film, video and documentaries.
Funding Information
Grants generally range from $300 to $1,000.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for funding, an organization must:
- be classified as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; or classified as an organization under Section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code; and
- be located in or provide service to residents within the seven counties of northeast Minnesota (Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake and St. Louis) and/or the three counties in northwest Wisconsin (Bayfield, Douglas and Ashland).
