Details:
Teachers in Lafayette schools may apply for a grant to support arts and culture related projects with local students. All applicants must be affiliated with a K-12 school within the official boundaries of the City of Lafayette. All projects must directly benefit students at the designated school.
LCAC promotes, nurtures, and celebrates the visual, performing, and language arts in Lafayette, Colorado by connecting artists, building partnerships, and enhancing and supporting diversity. They do this by providing resources, building capacity, creating infrastructure, and promoting programming.
Funding Information
Grant Information Awards will rarely exceed $1000. There is no restriction as to the minimum amount that may be requested.
General Requirements
- All applicants/project coordinators must be eighteen years or older
- All projects must directly benefit students in Lafayette schools.
- All projects must work/function directly with a Lafayette school.
- Projects should be completed no later than the designated date before the end of the school year.
- It is recommended that your project final report be completed within 30 days after the completion of the project and is due no later than the last day of school of that year
Eligibility Criteria
Grants for projects including performance or group cultural arts activities with an educational focus and/or participatory learning opportunities are available to Lafayette school personnel or artists who co-apply with them and who qualify under the General Requirements.
Exclusions
Funds will not be provided for projects that have occurred before the grant deadline, capital improvements, fundraising events, receptions, existing general operating budgets, and/or salaries for employees of organizations, reductions of deficits from past programs. (This does not exclude hiring visiting artists.)
Evaluation of the Application
Each grant will be evaluated on the following:
- Project quality and projected impact and success
- Budget
- Types of programs and services offered
- Demonstrated need for support
- Number of students and/or members of the community impacted
- LCAC’s mission of enhancing and supporting diversity or underserved populations
