The Jewish Women’s Foundation of New Jersey (JWF-NJ) is a collaborative philanthropy inspired by Jewish values. Members are dedicated to empowering women and girls in New Jersey through education, advocacy, and strategic grant making.
An organization must use funds to support women, girls, or women with their children exclusively. Projects which support a “majority” of women will not be considered.
Funding Information
The Large Grant Period grants up to $25,000 runs from July 1 of a given year through June 30 of the following year, with funds distributed in July and January.
Please Note:
- The Large Grant Period runs from July 1 of a given year through June 30 of the following year. Funding is on a one-year basis; organizations may reapply annually, but funding is not guaranteed.
- JWF-NJ primarily focuses its support in the following New Jersey counties: Essex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren. Occasionally, they will consider requests in nearby geographic areas located in-state.
- An organization must use funds to support women, girls, or women with their children exclusively. Projects which support a “majority” of women will not be considered.
- An organization’s overall support and inclusion of women and girls in leadership, on boards, and in key staff positions is considered.
- JWF-NJ funds both sectarian and non-sectarian organizations. An organization need not be Jewish to receive a grant.
- Grants cannot be awarded to individuals, political campaigns or organizations such as PACs, capital campaigns, or endowments.
- JWF-NJ does not provide funds for individual tuition scholarships (e.g., private school or university), however JWF-NJ may fund a project which absorbs costs/offers discounts for its neediest participants.
