Individuals receiving this award ARE eligible to apply for other South Arts funding (including the Southern Prize and State Fellowships, Jazz Road, and the Folk and Traditional Arts Master Artist Fellowships) unrelated to this project. South Arts funds cannot be used as a match for this program.

Funding Information
- Grants of up to $2,000 are available to support opportunities taking place between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.
Eligible Opportunities
Examples of opportunities that match the intent of this program include, but are not limited to:
- Accepting an invitation to exhibit, sell, screen, present, read or perform work in a significant in-person forum such as a renowned/major festival, invitational exhibit, invitational/juried showcase, etc.
- Participating in a residency to research/create a body of work and build network connections
- Travel is associated with significant career-building activities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this grant, the applicant must:
- Be an individual artist working in one of the following artistic disciplines: visual arts, craft, traditional arts/folklife, photography, performing arts, literary arts, film, media arts, interdisciplinary arts, or multimedia arts
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Not be a full-time student
- Be a United States citizen, lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence, or have permission from the Department of Homeland Security to work permanently in the U.S.
- Be a resident of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee
- Expect to maintain residency in the region during the award period. Applicants may be asked to submit a copy of their official state I.D./driver’s license as proof of residency later in the process, in order to confirm eligibility.
