The mission of Business Impact NW and the IMPACT Pitch Competition is to grow businesses to create jobs in underserved communities.
Participating in Impact Pitch is free. In addition to the prizes available, all participants gain the following throughout their journey: personal business coaching, powerful new tools for more effective business planning and strategy, and more.
The three business stage categories that contestants will compete in are:
- Startup/Idea Stage Business
- Early-Stage Business
- Established Business
Prize Information
During the process, participating entrepreneurs strengthen their business plans and receive a dedicated business coach to guide them through the 5 rounds of the competition.
- Grand Prizes: $5,000 each for Best Startup Business, Best Early Stage Business, and Best Established Business
- Audience Favorite Video Award: $1,000
- Finalist Grants: $1,000 to each of the 10 finalists
- Community Impact Awards: $1,000 to businesses in the first 2 rounds with the 2 highest scores of both rounds combined in each of their community emphasis categories: Woman-owned, BIPOC-owned, immigrant/refugee-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, Veteran-owned, and other military-connected businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
This competition is open to:
- Legally registered Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Alaska based businesses that have a direct impact in their immediate community. Businesses may apply who are in any stage of business, with or without sales, but must obtain a business license prior to entering Round 1.
