McHenry County estimates an allocation of $750,000 (Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents) in funding from HUD. A match requirement of 25% applies for all projects and no applications for assistance under $25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars) will be accepted.
Applications are being accepted for any eligible HOME activities, which include but are not limited to: Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Programs, Affordable Housing Development/Construction, Affordable Housing Rehabilitation, Downpayment Assistance Programs, Scattered-Site Acquisition of Affordable Housing, and more.
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) provides $5 billion to assist individuals or households who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, and other vulnerable populations, by providing housing, rental assistance, supportive services, and non-congregate shelter, to reduce homelessness and increase housing stability across the country. These grant funds will be administered through HUD’s HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME).

HOME allocations will be made to eligible non-profit organizations and municipalities within McHenry County.
