This funding opportunity aims to provide financial assistance for tree plantings throughout the county to help ameliorate the impacts of climate change and tree canopy loss. In PY 2022, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit projects that:
- Implement high impact reforestation projects,
- Expand tree canopy through community reforestation projects,
- Support the implementation of community urban forestry plans.
Funding Information
PY 2022 grant fund awards will be weighted to encourage tree planting projects:
- At least 75% of grant funds will be awarded to Planting Projects.
- No more than a maximum of 25% of grant funds will be awarded to combined Planning & Planting Projects.
- Typical grant awards are expected to be between $25,000 and $50,000.
- High Impact reforestation projects may be awarded up to $100,000. A total of $200,000 is available for High Impact grant awards.

- Non-Profit Corporations – A non-profit corporation or Watershed Group is eligible to apply if it is exempt from Federal income taxation pursuant to 26 U.S.C 501 (a) and supports in its mission environmental, conservation, or watershed activities.
