Greenwood Women Care is committed to learning about needs and opportunities in Greenwood County and supporting nonprofit organizations that serve Greenwood County residents through the GWC Grants.
Greenwood Women Care is an initiative of the Greenwood County Community Foundation, Greenwood, South Carolina. GWC is a philanthropic women’s organization that inspires women to be instrumental in making a difference in the community through collective learning, giving, and granting.
Funding Priorities and Grant Amounts
- In the 2023 granting cycle, GWC will consider grant applications in any area that enhances the quality of life in Greenwood County.
- Grants awarded will range from a minimum of $1000 to a maximum of $10,000. GWC reserves the right to offer partial funding for a grant request.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grants will be awarded only to organizations with 501(c)(3) or comparable tax-exempt status.
- Grants are for the direct benefit of residents of Greenwood County.
- Organizations must not discriminate on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religious belief.
- Organizations seeking funding from GWC are not excluded from applying for grants through the Greenwood County Community Foundation in the same granting year.
- An organization that receives a GWC grant will not be eligible to apply two years in a row. For example: Organizations receiving funding in the year 2023 will be eligible to reapply in the year 2025.
Areas not funded:
- Capital and endowment campaigns
- Organizations for re-granting purposes
- Travel and professional conferences
- Individuals
- Projects promoting religious or political views.
