The purpose of this RFA is to promote vaccine confidence in Tribal Nations and/or Urban Indian Communities by supporting efforts to develop and distribute culturally appropriate education materials and purchase supplies and materials to promote vaccine confidence. The NYSDOH, OMH-HDP, has been actively engaged in and operationalizing COVID-19 vaccination planning activities for nearly one year, resulting in a robust vaccine distribution and implementation system that is built on the advice and recommendations of clinical and public health experts. It involves the input from, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including local health departments, community based organizations, Tribal Nations and/or Urban Indian Communities. This funding opportunity will offer information and education to support efforts to reduce COVID 19 infections in the years to come in this targeted community.
Funding Information
- The eligible organizations will receive a minimum of $50,000.
- The Center for Disease Control (CDC) Immunization Grant funds in the amount of $790,637 will be distributed by the end of the grant term 2025.
- Anticipated Initial Contract Length: 12 months
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Requirements Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a community-based, not-for-profit organization that is tax-exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code; an academic institution; Tribal Nations/Urban Indian communities; or Article 28 providers who operate Nation Health clinics.
- Eligible to do business with New York State;
- Have at least two (2) years of experience working with Native communities in response to the COVID pandemic;
- Have at least two (2) years of experience in the oversight of administrative, fiscal, and programmatic aspects of government, foundation, or other grant-makers in health contracts, including timely and accurate submission of fiscal and program reports; and
