In partnership with the City of Fresno, the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation is providing financial assistance to under-served, minority small businesses impacted by COVID-19 to use for the retention or creation of jobs, marketing, financial management, or to mitigate costs due to the Pandemic.
Funding Information
Grants will be awarded in the amounts of $2,500 to non-brick-and-mortar eligible businesses and $5,000 to brick-and-mortar businesses that are physically located and operating in the City of Fresno.
$2,500 to non-brick-and-mortar eligible businesses:
- Childcare Services
- Mobile Street Vendor
- E-Commerce
- Other services that are non-brick-and-mortar
$5,000 Grants to brick-and-mortar businesses:
- Restaurants
- Construction trades
- Retail shops
- Small farm
- Other brick-and-mortar personal care and other services
Uses of Grant Funds
- Grant funds can be used to hire employees to increase productivity and a current employee’s salary to continue their employment.
- Grants will develop marketing strategies that will lead to an increase in exposure to their business.
- Grant funds are to be used to establish bookkeeping or accounting systems such as QuickBooks or other banking frameworks to manage their financials effectively.
- Grants will assist businesses with obtaining the licensing and permits required to import or export their product into new markets and scale their businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
Businesses must meet all of the following criteria:
- Physical Business Address – Business must be physically located and operating in the City of Fresno
- Good Neighbor Standing – Business must have no outstanding code violations and operate as permitted by the City of Fresno.
- Workforce – Business must have 10 or fewer employees on payroll; owner-operated businesses and consultancies are considered to have a single employee.
- Loss of Income – The business must have been subject to reduced business operations or be able to provide proof of cost incurred due to the COVID-19 impact after March 3, 2021.
