Justworks’ mission is to help entrepreneurs and businesses grow with confidence. Starting and running a business is challenging enough on its own, but disparities in opportunity along with race, gender, sexual orientation, and other socioeconomic lines make access to financing, resources, and other fundamentals a major obstacle for many entrepreneurs in realizing their potential.
They’re looking for innovative nonprofits with effective approaches to supporting underrepresented founders in getting their businesses off the ground. They’re open to ideas of any scale and creativity level.
Funding Information
- In 2022, they will honor their commitment by awarding $50,000 grants to five non-profit organizations that work to support underrepresented entrepreneurs reach their goals and their potential.
- $25,000 will be distributed upon final grantee selection, with the remaining $25,000 distributed following a check-in and report on how funds are being used.
Who can apply?
Applications are only open to 501(c)(3) organizations located in the 50 U.S. states/D.C who are supporting underrepresented founders of early-stage businesses. Support can be through grants, education, technical assistance, access to capital, in-kind resources (i.e. working space, skilled volunteerism, etc.). Of particular interest are organizations that are helping to fight systemic racism. They do not accept applications from organizations that are fiscally sponsored.
