This community education fund was established to provide financial support for public charities in Smith County offering educational programs and materials. Examples may include, but are not limited to: computer and other job skills training, financial literacy programs, academic tutoring for school children, adult literacy programs, healthy lifestyle classes, community education events and materials.
Funding Information
Based on available funding and the desire to support multiple organizations, individual grant requests should be limited to a maximum of $2,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants are limited to non-profits offering educational programs and materials in Smith County, Texas.
- Applicants must be tax-exempt, non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. Governmental entities, private schools, and private non-operating foundations are not eligible.
- Grant requests may include, but are not limited to the following: computer and other job skills training, financial literacy programs, academic tutoring and other educational programs for school children, adult literacy programs, healthy lifestyle classes, community education events and materials.
- Services must be available to citizens of the community without regard to race or religion.
- The Foundation does not award grants to individuals or political activities.
