Fund for Children grants support both operations and program-specific needs including technical assistance for organization and program-related planning and development.
Successful applicants approach their work with youth through a holistic, intersectional lens and can demonstrate use of nonprofit best practices at all levels (Board, Operations, and Service Delivery). Applicant has policies in place to support best practices and to integrate equity and youth voice across all areas of work. Program development and delivery utilizes trauma informed, strength- and racial equity-based practices. Lastly, applicant demonstrates a track record of successes and proven outcomes for youth in Philadelphia.

Eligibility Criteria
Basic Eligibility for Fund for Children grants:
- Must have 501(c)(3) nonprofit status; if fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, applicant must have an advisory board separate from its fiscal sponsor’s Board.
- Must be based in Philadelphia
- 100% of the children and youth served by your organization reside in Philadelphia.
- At least 90% of those served by the organization can be categorized as children and youth (programs for children and youth within an multi-service organization may be eligible)
- At least 70% of the children and youth (ages 0-18) served by the organization can be categorized as low-income.
- Must employ at least one full time equivalent staff person.
- The Philadelphia Foundation does not use discretionary dollars to support organizations where there are familial relationships across the board and staff.
- All staff and volunteer child abuse clearances must be up to date including PA Child abuse, criminal history, and FBI fingerprinting.
