This program stimulates economic development and historic preservation, supporting business and building owners in achieving their vision for their space.
Funding Information
This is a matching grant, with Coupeville Historic Waterfront contributing up to 50% of the cost of eligible improvements, to a maximum of $2,000 for a single business or property. Each business or building owner can receive the grant up to twice within a 5 year period.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be a business or building owner physically located within the Coupeville Historic Waterfront Catchment Area.
- Eligible Improvements include but are not limited to:
- Signage, painting, windows and doors, lighting, facade improvements, repairs and restorations, and creative exterior elements.
- Tenants will obtain the property owner’s permission for all exterior improvements.
- When submitting a grant application, planning and research for the corresponding project must be underway. This assures that the project is ready to go and will be completed without major delays within 120 days.
- Projects shall comply with applicable Town codes. The project may require a Certificate of Appropriateness. It is recommended that applicants contact the Town of Coupeville’s Planning Department before submitting their application.
