The Foundation seeks proposals for innovative actions with measurable outcomes to positively impact our environment. For example, proposals can:
- Clean up the waterways and shorelines, which provide critical marine habitat that supports their fisheries.
- Plant mangroves and other coastal vegetation to improve marine habitat, reduce beach erosion and also help protect communities from flooding.
- Plant inland trees and increase greenery in cities to counteract rising temperatures and clean their air.
- Protect and preserve marine habitat, which supports sea turtles and their local fisheries.
- Protect coral reefs and create more artificial reefs to expand marine habitat.
- Reduce/recycle single-use plastics, which often end up polluting local waterways.
- Increase solar panel usage to create more energy-efficient homes and businesses.
- Encourage water conservation strategies to help reduce saltwater intrusion from sealevel rise and ensure they have fresh, quality drinking water.
