The goal of the fund is to improve community safety by strengthening economic, social, and academic conditions for youth and neighborhoods. In recent years, a collaborative effort among community partners has focused on implementing the Group Violence Intervention (GVI) strategy developed by the National Network for Safe Communities to focus on reducing gun violence specifically.
Grants from this fund work toward creating a safe, equitable and thriving community. The fund has supported programs that approach systemic causes of economic, racial, and academic disparities and/or aims to avoid, reduce, or stop high risk behaviors that can lead to involvement with the criminal justice system.
They are looking for proposals that:
- Build community engagement and partnership in ongoing violence intervention efforts and/or
- Provide support to youth and young adults who are at high risk of violent victimization or offending
Funding Information
15,000 is available for projects and/or programs that work towards creating a safe, equitable and thriving community. Grant requests should not exceed $5,000 and can be used at any time between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications from nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) status will be accepted.
Ineligible Activities:
- Fundraising events and activities
- Religious activities: contact program officer for clarification
- Expenses for projects and programming that have already occurred or will occur during the grant review process
