The Food Security Grant Program will reimburse organizations that distributed food to communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic between $5,000 and $25,000 for qualifying past expenses. Eligible entities include food pantries, food banks, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and non-profit organizations.
Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to:
- Barriers/Partitions
- Cleaning Supplies
- Food distribution space/pantry rental
- Vehicle rental
Eligible Uses of Funds
The Food Security Grant Program aims to provide funding for Rockland County based organizations by reimbursing qualified expenses incurred from March 3, 2021, to January 2, 2022, that was used to assist communities and individuals in the County of Rockland experiencing food insecurities due to COVID-19. These expenses include, but are not limited to:
- Barriers/Partitions
- Cleaning Supplies
- Food distribution
- Space/pantry rental
- Vehicle rental
Funding Information
Reimbursement for aforementioned eligible expenses and COVID-19 mitigation equipment, totaling of at least $5,000 and up to $25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have the ability to receive federal awards
- Unless excepted by 2 CFR25.110(b) or (c), or has an exception approved by the federal awarding agency under 2 CFR 25.110(d) applicants are required to be registered in SAM.gov before submitting an application; Provide a valid unique entity identifier in its application; and continue to maintain and active SAM.gov registration with current information at all times during which it has an active Federal award or an application or plan under consideration by a federal awarding agency.
- The award cannot be issued without complete compliance of the above.
- Must be an organization currently operating in the County of Rockland that has been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
- Must be an operating Organization in the County of Rockland since January 1, 2020
- Must be in good standing with Local, State, and Federal, taxation and license requirements
- Must have the capacity for food distribution
- Must intend to be operating in the County of Rockland until January 1, 2023
- Must have or be able to provide a DUNS number
- Disclosure of any other COVID-19 related funding grants
