The UNCF Social Justice Scholarship is now open for applications. It is a merit scholarship program for students who are from New York, New Jersey, Vermont or Connecticut who are committed to social justice. Students majoring in criminal justice, political science, prelaw, forensic science, criminology, or a course of study related to preparation for entry to law school will be given preference.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the program must meet the following criteria:
- Be African American
- Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale
- Reside in or be a permanent resident of Connecticut, Vermont, NY or NJ. One recipient will be chosen from NY, NJ and CT or VT.
- Be a junior or senior during the time of application
- Students shall submit an online application complete with:
- A letter of recommendation
- A statement of career interest that discusses your passion and committment to social justice and the study of law
- A current transcript (unofficial)
