Social Services Funding Grants are provided on an annual basis through a competitive process to nonprofit organizations addressing the needs of low-income Beaverton Residents. Priorities are determined by City Council and currently target: housing/homelessness, affordable after-school and educational programming, and health.
Funding Priority
- Homelessness/Housing (resident services, shelter, rent assistance, tenant education, evications prevention, street outreach)
- Affordable afterschool & educational programming (childcare, academic support, leadership development, college/vocation prep)
- Healthcare (affordable access to medical/dental care, mental health/addiction services, coordinated care)
- Immigrant & Refugee Resources (social service navigation, resettlement, ELL education, legal aid, culturally specific services)
- Hunger (food pantries, nutrition classes, community gardens, food support services)
Funding Information
- The committee will only fund projects for a maximum of $20,000.
- All grants will begin on July 1, 2022 and end on June 30, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be a non-profit organization that addresses one of the identified city priorities for fiscal year 2023-24.
- Only one grant application per year will be considered for any one organization.
- An organization will only be considered if all previously awarded grants complied with grant procedures, including timely filing of progress reports.
- Grants must be used for services provided directly to Beaverton residents.
- Proposed grant funding will not be used for capital projects.
- Applicants are not receiving City of Beaverton CDBG funding for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
