WCCF recognizes that their communities are struggling with a crisis of affordable and attainable housing, and that the number of unhoused and homeless residents continues to grow. This funding is available to help nonprofit organizations focused on housing, to strengthen their capacity for maximum effectiveness and sustainability.
Goal of 2023 Community Grants for Building Forward:
Help nonprofits strengthen organizational capacity, expand programs, improve competencies, invest in systems in order to increase effectiveness and impact to address housing assistance, affordability, attainability and homelessness in the communities they serve.
Examples of purposes that funds may be requested for include:
- Strategic planning and/or organizational review for sustainability and/or growth;
- Leadership development or staff training;
- Launch a new program that is in the strategic plan but not yet funded;
- Expand a successful program to meet additional needs;
- Feasibility study, planning grant or next steps in a planning process for a capital campaign;
- Technology upgrades;
- Legal Support.

Grants will be awarded in the $10,000 – $25,000 range.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible organizations must be a 501 (c) (3) or other qualified charitable entity (school, church, govt.), recognized by the IRS and officed and working within WCCF’s seven county region (Delta, Eagle, Garfield, Mesa, Montrose, Ouray, Rio Blanco. Organizations should be registered and in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State.
