The Bill and Sarah Ransom Community Service Award is open to those in the “Valley Area”, which consists of Waverly, NY, Sayre and Athens PA.
Rotary was one of the many organizations that Bill was active in. His Waverly Rotary colleagues honor his commitment to community with an annual award that recognizes similar service while benefiting local non-profits.
They were committed to making their community a stronger and better place to live, work and enjoy life. The recipient of this award will be someone who displays attributes that are consistent with Bill and Sarah’s beliefs and their relentless contributions and dedication to the community. On an annual basis, nominations will be reviews through a formal application process. The recipient of the award will then be given the honor of selecting a local charity to receive the award money.

Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals may nominate themselves.
- Nominators must be individuals, not organizations, though an individual may nominate a colleague within their organization/place of employment.

Given the award is intended for individuals who share Bill and Sarah Ransom’s vision and commitment, through service to the Valley community, the winner will have demonstrated the following characteristics:
- Provides leadership and vision
- Has been a mentor and role model to others
- Has devoted time to improve the community
- Is pro-active and has produced positive change.
