The AFCC has a total of $139,000 available to assist local nonprofits that have an arts– or culture-based mission. The funding was provided through a grant the AFCC received last year from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). It was one of 66 organizations nationwide selected to receive a total of $20.2 million from the NEA to assist the arts sector with Covid-19 recovery.
Unlike the AFCC’s annual appropriations, this round of grants will not support projects. Funding can be used to assist with the following costs:
- Salary support (full or partial) for one or more staff positions;
- Facilities costs, such as mortgage, rent, and utilities;
- Costs associated with healthy and safety supplies for staff and/or patrons; and
- Marketing and promotion costs.
