- Cultural organizations or programming that provide diverse populations with opportunities to express themselves creatively and celebrate and share their cultural traditions.
- Artistic and cultural programs or projects that center and/or elevate the voices of diverse populations.
- Arts and culture organizations or programming that foster deeper engagement with art and culture across the community through free, community-oriented public programming.
Types of Support
- General Operating Support
- for organizations where most of their work centers around support and promotion of artistic and cultural programming by and/or for diverse populations, promoting inclusion and belonging in the Greater Denver region.
- Program or Project Support
- for aligned programs/projects within organizations where most of their work does not center around support and promotion of diverse artistic and cultural programming or promoting inclusion and belonging in the Greater Denver region or for organizations that prefer a program- or project-specific grant for any other reason.
The Foundation is interested in seeing proposals that:
- Promote inclusion and belonging in the community and foster integration of arts, culture and civic life.
- Center and elevate diverse community voices.
- Ensure that community development projects include arts and culture programming that is engaging and reflective of diverse communities.
- Specify any issues and/or opportunities the organization seeks to address.
- Provide a plan and activities to be accomplished in the grant period.
- Articulate what success would look like as a result of the activities outlined.
- Demonstrate commitment to advancing inclusion and engagement across different demographics.
- When relevant for the scope of work and proposed activities, remove barriers to artistic and cultural participation by providing practical supports such as compensation, childcare or food for artists and/or interpretation services for audiences.
Funding Information
- Total funding available: $300,000
- Grants range will typically range between $5,000 and $25,000. The average grant amount will likely be around $15,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- This opportunity is open to nonprofit organizations, schools/school districts, government agencies or fiscally sponsored projects in the seven-county Denver Metro region: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties.
- Organizations funded through donor-advised funds, Rose Youth Foundation, Roots and Branches, or other giving circles at Rose Community Foundation are eligible to apply, as long as other eligibility requirements are met.
- Organizations that house endowments at Rose Community Foundation are eligible to apply, as long as other eligibility requirements are met, but are not guaranteed to receive a grant.
- Organizations that have current funding at Rose Community Foundation are eligible to apply for this opportunity, but prioritization will generally be given to applicants that do not have open grants in an effort to reach organizations, communities, and types of work or projects that are not eligible for funding via other Rose Community Foundation grant cycles.
