The NATIONAL SIGNATURE PROJECT AWARD is awarded annually to an outstanding and innovative classroom project that exemplifies the very best in rural, place-based education. The National Signature Project Award is open to any rural classroom teacher in the United States, and it is jointly funded by the Rural Schools Collaborative (RSC) and the National Rural Education Association (NREA).
Guidelines
- Preference will be given to projects that begin during the fall semester of 2022. In addition, any level of matching fund support is viewed favorably by the selection committee.
- All project proposals should encompass elements of place-based education.
- Teachers currently working in a rural school district will be considered for this grant opportunity.
- The National Signature Project Award recipient will be contacted with a provisional award, pending written confirmation from a building/district administrator that the school and school district supports the project AND a signed grant agreement letter. Once they have written confirmation from the administrator and the grant agreement letter, they will make a public announcement of the award.
- Previous National Signature Project Award winners and current Grants in Place Fellows are not eligible to apply for the 2022 Fifth Annual National Signature Project Award.
