The Healthy Homes Program is designed to find and fix health hazards in Muskegon County homes. The home improvements will upgrade the health and safety of the home environments, reduce the need for medical care associated with home environmental hazards and promote healthier behaviors.
Funding Information
Applications for assistance for up to $10,000 to address housing hazards are available through the City of Muskegon’s Community and Neighborhood Services Department, which is administering a $1.5 million grant targeting homeowners across Muskegon County.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible homeowners in Muskegon County at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) whose home has health hazards that effect quality of life. Priority is given to individuals with disabilities, seniors over 62, and households with children.
- Submit a complete application with all attachments
- Be at or below 80% area median income
- Be the owner occupant of a qualifying single-family dwelling, or have a recorded land contract with written approval from the land contract holder
- Be up-to-date with property taxes
- Be located in Muskegon County.
