Donor Name: Womenade Boston
State: Massachusetts
Cities: Lowell and Lawrence
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline: 02/03/2023
Size of the Grant: $20,000 – $25,000
Details:
The funding plays an integral role in addressing the full spectrum of issues that impact women and girls today. At the core of Womenade’s mission and values is a commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, which is reflected in the organizations they support. They also look to empower underserved women, girls, and gender expansive youth and adults who identify as female, many of whom bear a significantly disproportionate burden of poverty, workplace inequities, homelessness, abuse, and other barriers to self-sufficiency and well-being.
- Funding is provided for programs that serve teen girls and women and those that identify as female. They are particularly interested in organizations or programs that are piloting initiatives based on promising new or different research, practices, and interventions for women and girls.
- They are interested in identifying and funding well-designed, effectively managed programs, projects or organizational capacity-expanding initiatives that may have escaped the notice of larger funders and/or are bringing a new solution to the sector.
- Priority will be given to programs with annual budgets under $2M. Some applicants may be seeking funding for programs situated within a larger organization. In these cases, it is very important that applicants describe their relationship to the parent organization, explaining clearly if/how the parent organization provides financial, in-kind or other support to the program.
The Goal is to award four grants each year– two in each category of Women and Teen Girls empowerment.
- Organizations that Empower Teen Girls – Ages 12-21
- Organizations seek to support organizations and/or programs within organizations that address the needs of girls who are economically disadvantaged, socially at risk, and/or without the mentors or role models they need to thrive. They are interested in supporting those organizations or programs that improve the self-esteem of teen girls and help motivate them to develop the life skills and base of knowledge they need to lead productive and fulfilling lives.
- Organizations that Empower Women– Age 22 and Older
- Organizations seek to support organizations and/or programs within organizations that address the needs of adult women who are economically disadvantaged, socially at risk, and/or without the social support they need to thrive. They are interested in supporting organizations or programs that improve opportunities for these women, including helping them identify and prepare for personal, educational, and job opportunities, building skills, and boosting self-esteem so they can achieve their goals and lead fulfilling, self-sufficient lives.
