The Montgomery County Children’s Opportunity Alliance grew out of a simple premise: Together, they can create a Montgomery County in which all children can thrive.
Goals
- Convening ECE Stakeholders
- Convene all early childhood education stakeholders to remove the barriers to accessing quality services for children 0-5.
- Providing Equitable Access
- Identify the current gaps that exist in their County’s childcare and Pre-K systems and increase access to high-quality programming for low-income Black and brown children in their community.
- Advocating for Evidence-Based Programs
- Remove barriers such as language, cultural factors, transportation and time constraints so that all families can engage with quality early childhood programs in a convenient and secure way.
Funding Information
Grants will range from $10,000-$50,000 for a period of support over one year or less.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, organizations must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to improve outcomes for young children, from birth to age 5, in Montgomery County, MD. The Children’s Opportunity Alliance is particularly interested in supporting projects and/or organizations that focus on the following elements of the early care and education system:
- Supporting families to address their needs
- Empowering families with young children and encouraging advocacy at the state and local level
- Creative and innovative solutions to address equitable and affordable access to child care and Pre-K programs in Montgomery County
- Supporting the early care and education workforce with scholarships, credentialing support, or other workforce needs
