The grants are intended to provide financial assistance and economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic to Pinellas County’s arts and cultural community.
Individuals may not be paid by both individual and organizational Pinellas Recovers NEA grants for the same project. Individual Artist competitive grants are for specific projects or programs that include a community engagement component with measurable impact.
Individual Artist grant support work in all artistic disciplines including: Visual, Dance, Music, Theater, Literature (does not include journalism, Media/Multi-Media or Interdisciplinary.
Individual Artists Can Apply for Grants for Specific Projects or Programs that may include
- Presentations, training, artwork creation – with tangible outcomes.
- Community engagement component.
- Reach communities that have had difficulty getting all of the benefits the arts have to offer due to race, ethnicity, economics, geography or disability.
- Measurable impact and an effective means of measuring.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant is at least 18 years of age.
- Applicant is a legal resident of Pinellas County and is expected to continue their residency in Pinellas County during the grant period (proof of residency required).
- Applicant is a USA citizen with a Social Security Number.
- Applicant is a practicing artist or artisan in any area of the arts, a curator or cultural producer/maker; is actively creating, curating or producing work; has demonstrated success in the arts through high-quality work and/or contributions to the field.
- Applicant has at least a two-year history of connecting with the public, through performance, exhibition, workshops, presentations, public activities or engagement, or publication.
- Non-profit arts organizations should apply to the Creative Pinellas Recovery Grants for organizations.
- Artists who receive a 2022 Professional Artist Grant from Creative Pinellas are not eligible.
