The HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program was enacted in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush through Title II of the Cranston-Gonzales National Affordable Housing Act and took effect in the same year through bipartisan legislation. HOME projects funded include housing rehabilitation, homeowner programs, tenant-based rental assistance programs and subsidy buy downs.
Funding Information
A match requirement of 25% applies for all projects and no applications for assistance under $25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars) will be accepted.
Activities
Concept Papers are being accepted for any eligible HOME activities, which include but are not limited to: Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Programs, Affordable Housing Development/Construction, Affordable Housing Rehabilitation, Downpayment Assistance Programs, Scattered-Site Acquisition of Affordable Housing, and more. Concept papers for the Homeowner-Occupied Rehabilitation activities will not be accepted under this NOFA.
Eligibility Criteria
HOME allocations will be made to eligible non-profit organizations and municipalities within McHenry County.
