This fund is designed to provide microgrants to grassroots organizations, nationally, that are TGNC-led and that serve trans communities, especially Black and Brown communities who often live in environments with high risk of HIV infection. The program prioritizes organizations serving those areas that have been disproportionately impacted by HIV, including southern regions of the United States.
Destination Tomorrow’s TRANScend Community Impact Fund strives to address these and other practices that continue to place transgender populations at risk by providing funding to transgender- led organizations, programs, and initiatives. Additionally, the program aims to reduce a range of additional barriers by supporting the development and capacity of these organizations throughout participation in the initiative. The goals of this program include:
- Increasing the capacity of trans-led organizations
- Create enhanced and expanded HIV/AIDS services for transgender populations
- Support methods that decrease stigma and discrimination among transgender populations
- Increase awareness of HIV among transgender populations
- Increase access to affirming care and support services for transgender populations
- Increase provision of affirming services for transgender populations
- Increase awareness and utilization of affirming services for transgender populations
- Improve quality of services provided to transgender populations
- Alleviate the social determinants of homelessness/houselessness, poor health outcomes, and a lack of resources for transgender populations
Funding Information
- Community Collaborations projects will award grantees one $50,000 fund to support programming that
includes at least one community partner as a part of the project design. - General Operating support requests will award grantees up to $30,000 in funding support for organizations whose mission and goals align with the goals and objectives of this program.
- Applicants must be able to utilize funds within a 12-month period beginning July 4, 2022 and ending July 7, 2023 for General Operating and Community Collaborations awards.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be non-profit, tax-exempt organizations, per the guidelines set forth by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) with proper 501(c)(3) status. Organizations or coalitions that do not hold 501(c)(3) status must have a fiscal sponsor.
