The Sapienza Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 through a bequest from the Estate of Anne and Anthony Sapienza. The fund supports individual scholarship awards to benefit students who reside in New Canaan and need financial assistance to continue their education. The fund also makes block grants to nonprofit educational organizations to fund their existing or planned scholarship programs.
This application also includes the opportunity to apply to one or both of the following scholarships:
- The Joseph F. Dorrico Rotary Award – A one time award for outstanding community service.
- Silver Hill Scholarship – An additional scholarship for students whose intended field of study in college and their future career is related to health care.
Funding Information
- Students may apply during their senior year of high school, after college acceptance, and may be awarded $2,000 per year during each year of post-secondary education.
Eligibility Criteria
- New Canaan residency
- Demonstrated need for financial assistance
- GPA of 2.5 or higher (Returning Applicants)
- Attending a not-for-profit school or educational organization
- All application requirements have been submitted
